The nose is immediately giving with dusty earth, red currant, cranberry, raspberry, tomato skin, pepper and warm spices leaping from the glass. On the palate, the wine is equally generous, with cherry and spice leading, backed by nicely integrated tannins and a red fruited long finish. The alcohol is restrained, especially given the ripeness and fruit-forward nature of the wine and the warmth of the site (Block 26 of the famed Shea Vineyard). Beautiful. Drink now through 2030.
