The deeply colored 2017 REX HILL Sims Vineyard Pinot Noir from the Dundee Hills AVA has great intensity. Red fruits greet the nose, cherry, raspberry, plum, pomegranate, along with inviting spices and earth, floral and herbal tones. Great purity and focus mark the juicy palate showing a tensile quality between the lively acidity and the mild-mannered, chalky tannins. Aromatically powerful, with a complex backbone, this is a wine that is delightful now, but should also age beautifully.
