Matzinger-Davies Pinot Noir 2012

The 2012 Eola Amity Hills Pinot Noir opens with aromas of brambly boysenberry, spiced cherry and chili powder. Notes of earth and fruit mingle like cherry pie and beetroot brownies laden with aromatic spices of cinnamon and allspice. On the palate flavors are savory, steely and bright; dark plum, tobacco and bay leaf move to tayberry, rosemary and thyme. This wine is succulent and contained, showing elegance and balance with a lingering saline finish.
