Artist in Residence

At REX HILL, we believe that the pursuit of excellence in winemaking is both an art and a science—a delicate balance of intuition, precision, and creativity. Our Artist in Residence program is a natural extension of this philosophy, offering a space where visual artists can explore the same harmony we seek in every bottle.

Where Art Meets Terroir

Nestled in the heart of Oregon’s Willamette Valley, REX HILL invites one artist each year to immerse themselves in the rhythms of the vineyard and winery. This residency is more than a retreat—it’s a dialogue between disciplines. Just as our winemakers interpret the language of soil, climate, and vine, our resident artists interpret the spirit of place through their own medium.

The program fosters a collaborative environment where art and science converge. Residents are encouraged to engage with our team, observe the winemaking process, and draw inspiration from the natural beauty and complexity of our estate. The resulting work becomes part of the REX HILL story—an evolving narrative of craftsmanship, curiosity, and connection.

Whether through sculpture, painting, photography, or mixed media, each artist brings a new lens to our shared landscape. Their creations not only enrich our physical spaces but also deepen our understanding of the world we cultivate—both above and below the surface.
