About the Artwork:
Ana is emptying a drain basket that is used to catch solids before they make it into the drain system. Parts of the winemaking process can be messy, and wineries are designed with this in mind. This is another example of a side of winemaking that isn’t typically photographed; I believe it is as important to show these behind-the-scenes views as it is to show the finished product looking glamorous in the glass. There is physical, messy, manual work to get that wine into the bottle.
